On the DT-generation Ram 1500, the upstream oxygen sensors thread straight into the exhaust manifolds on both the 5.7L Hemi and 3.6L Pentastar. The job itself is simple - unplug, unscrew, screw in the new one - but the passenger-side sensor on the Hemi is buried behind the steering shaft and frame rail, so most people end up pulling a front wheel and the inner fender liner for elbow room. A 22 mm slotted O2 socket plus a wobble extension does about 90 percent of these trucks; a 22 mm offset O2 wrench saves the rest.
The two things people get wrong: buying a downstream sensor (or the wrong bank) because the listings look identical, and cranking the new sensor in far too tight. The manifold boss is not forgiving - snug to roughly 22 ft-lb and stop. Also resist the urge to clean the new sensor with anything; brake cleaner or silicone on the tip will put the light right back on.

5.7L Hemi eTorque and 3.6L Pentastar eTorque both use 22 mm (7/8 in) upstream sensors in the exhaust manifolds; the Pentastar's Bank 1 sensor is generally easier to reach from below, while the Hemi's passenger side usually needs the wheel and fender liner out. The 3.0L EcoDiesel has no conventional upstream O2 sensor at all - it uses NOx sensors (typically a 22 mm hex body with a dedicated NOx sensor socket) and a control module, and replacement often requires a dealer-level tool for the reset.

It is not required, but it is good practice on eTorque trucks to turn the ignition fully off and let the system power down. Do not disturb the orange 48V cabling, and note that if you disconnect the 12V battery the truck may relearn idle and throttle settings over the next few drive cycles.
Clear the code with a scan tool, then drive the truck through a full warm-up and some steady highway cruising so the O2 monitors can complete. If the light returns with the same code, suspect an exhaust leak near the sensor, a chafed pigtail, or the wrong part number.
