On the gas 5th-gen CR-V this is a mostly mechanical, low-drama job: drop the engine undercover and right fender splash shield, release the auto-tensioner with a 14 mm socket on a long breaker bar, pull the belt, undo the 10 mm B+ nut and field connector, then two M10 bolts and the alternator comes out. No. The Hybrid uses the traction motor/generator and a DC-DC converter inside the high-voltage intelligent power unit to charge the 12V battery. There is no belt-driven alternator to replace, and diagnosing or servicing that system requires high-voltage training and equipment.
Not strictly, but on the 1.5L turbo most people do. Pulling the right front wheel and folding back the inner fender liner gives you a clear swing for the breaker bar on the tensioner and for the lower mounting bolt. On the 2.4L you can usually manage with just the undercover off.
